Hi Steve,
If the nail is well away from the side wall, should be reparable.Take it along to a reputable tyre specalist to be certain.

Yeah, I had a metal rawplug/thingy straight through my tread on the M1, which handilly let the tyre down on me while going along F>ck!!
The tyre place put in a plug and glued on a patch and charged me £7

I've always been told not to repair tyres on high performance vehicles, no matter where the hole is.

My 996 had a repaired tyre on the rear when I first bought it and there was a slight vibration from the rear wheels that only occurred at speeds over 110 mph. I had the wheels balanced and the geometry checked but to no avail. I bought a new tyre, the problem went went away.

Would you really trust a repaired tyre at high speed ?

You may well be right HTG.....?I bow to your superior knowledge.
In an ideal world I would think you are right, but is a repaired tyre DANGEROUS!?Views please guys.

If someone knows the answer to this.....would be very interested,in case I get a puncture!!

get a new tyre, you cannot feel secure in a performance car worth ££££ or $$$$$ with patched rubber..its a choker but not likely to happen too often

I think it depends on how you drive. If you tend to drive gently and stick to NSL, then you're okay. But if you use the car, when you take off at full throttle, you won't see it but you will actually be warping the rear tyres.

I agree with Herman - get a new one.

Hi

Had two new P-Zero's put on Friday, agree with all of you, the car is designed for High speed, not worth the risk.

Thanks again
