Can I anyone advise me what the "sports design package" consist of? Seen a nice 53 plate 2.7 advertised with this fitted an not sure what it entails?

Grey painted roll over bar, center consol, dials, gearstick, door pocket - the paint does not wear particularily well but I love it over a standard box. Dash has a textured surface. Seats are leather and sports.

The P69 "Sport Design" includes:

Leather sport seats (P77), black partial leather only (Code AZ).
Black Leather: Hand brake grip, Door handles, shift lever knob, Airbag cover, Rollbar trim, Cover of center console, Upper part of instrument cover.
Textured black leatherette: Side pads of center console front, dashboard, door panels, side panels of center console.
Painted Metal Grey: Bottom of instrument bridge, Instrument rims, Switch Plates, Seat buckets, switch plates on seats, outer seat fittings, center console, Handbrake cover, handbrake lever, ashtray cover plate and lid, door handle tube left and right, panel in front of door lever, storage compartment lid, roll bar, gear shift knob insert (in case of Tip: release knob).
3-spoke leather steering wheel, black, with airbag. The only way to get the 3 spoke wheel in the U.S. (at this time) is with the P69 Option.
1998 model price is $1620.00.
Conflicts: It has been verified that the P69 does not conflict with the P63 option package.

Here is one person’s description of the gray color of the P69:

The trim pieces are gray, not silver. In person, they look to have a granite type quality (gray, black, white, silver "chunks" all mixed together, gray predominating), Not only do the trim pieces have a granite look, they have a rough texture. These pieces are not smooth or glossy. The top of the cluster, top of the lockable console, door handles, and passenger airbag are leather, black (only) the seats are black leather (only) but being "sport seats" are backed in that same gray granite plastic all the rest (that would normally be vinyl) are "diamond textured" black vinyl. The diamond pattern captures and reflects light and is palpable (i.e. you can feel the pattern) here comes the opinion part: stunning. It is definitely a bargain for the price (in just hardware alone).

Hi I take it that its a 986?

I had Sport Design pack on my 986. It consists of leather sports seats, a grey/silver cover on the back of these seats. The rear section of the centre console in this grey/silver colour. The Radio surround in same grey silver. The dash is a textured plastic rather than plain.

It was great value as an option, iirc about 30% of the individual cost of the options. However it was a very rare option.

Thanks very much for that, I thought it was rare as I have been looking at loads (986) recently but I realy like the seats on this one. From the poor pic the seats look like they have bolsters near the shoulders. Liked it so much I have just bought it

Its hasn't got climate ( but thats why the roof comes off surely) and I dont think traction was standard? Anyway bought now...

Yeah the shoulders are wider on the sports seats.

Climate was an expensive option on the 2.7. Porsche Stability Management was also an expensive option.

sport seats fairly common option on their own though, esp. on S model as the were free if you ordered full leather

Didn't discount unfortunately.. Was a bit to keen its from an OPC as well so had my eyes taken out!! Nice colour, boring seal grey.. And 18" turbo look wheels(think thats what they acre called) lok nice. As you can see I haven't even seen it never mind drove it!! The dealer is 250 miles way from me so all deal done via phone / email.

Im sure it wil be ok as I have driven others of similiar age spec..

I have been looking for a while and really fancied an S. But you see one and it's "only" 3k more than budget, then by the time I factored in warranty etc it seemed more sense to get this model.

Im sure the S will cost more to run. This model has one owner 18k on clock last service done a month ago.

Wanted to collect it tomorrow but dealer cant get RAC check till Friday.. Should be a nice drive home though!

Do I need to get the dealer to switch of the pass airbag or is this something I can do myself?

Need it off for child seat..
