I hope I am proven wrong - but the much trailed RS article looks like a re-hash of an old "Excellence" article.

If correct, although it makes the piece available to a wider audience, my building excitement over the past month will have been for nothing. If incorrect, I apologise for having such doubts - just the photos and some of the words feel awfully familiar.

I hope the RS feature in this month's 911 & Porsche World is at least something new.

Yep - word for word from Issue 133 (November 2004) of Excellence - different pictures of the same cars though.

Disappointing.

Let's see what else there is in the issue that makes up for it (which there should be, as usually a very informed read).

I feel bad if this is news to Total 911.

I think I need to subscribe to Excellence though. On the few times I've got a copy it seems very good.

Still yet to see a copy - obviously sunning myself in various far flung corners of the world spending my new found journalistic wealth ! Has anyone got any views on the relative merits of the Sunseeker 82 or the Princess 25m ? I really am torn between them, so much so I may just end up getting both, we`ll see !

Looking forward to seeing how the words transpose from the computer screen to the printed page ! If only you could have seen my English school report. I`ll dig it out one day and post it up ! Sorry - did I forget to mention that when offered the gig, and the bit about the Booker award on my CV I did put it was the Booker Cash & Carry award didn`t I? Oh god I`ve just realised how you might have confused that for the Booker literary award. I feel terrible.

Keep smiling

Henry

This isn't a re-hash of the June 2004 GTPP article is it?

Picked the mag up today, and even if it is a reprint, thats a great article on the RS. Nice to read the development engineer backing up the bhp figures we've all been finding on the dyno. Also I'm more believing of the extra 15bhp from the intake coming from him than when its quoted on rennlist.

Also claims the weights quoted are fully loaded with cage etc which was something we were puzzling over before. Oh and the fact that the smaller fuel tank more than compensates for the extra dash weight is nice to know.

Great article.

Paid my £4-25 !!! yesterday at a newsstand. Then sat with a coffee to read through, the magazine is lifeless and the content shallow. All IMHO of course.

I shant be paying for it again

I think the mag is great. The articles are straight to the point. I think that those that don't like the mag are into stuff like Top Gear, which quite frankly, has little to do with proper automotive reviews and more with marketing over inflated egos of the presenters.

Well I have to disagree with you there, I don't like it and I'm definitely NOT into Top Gear.

I think the photography is superb but the writing really lets it down. I bought and read the first 6 or 7 but I don't bother with it now.
