Paint/Body Warranty on a 993 – Can I claim for this?
Discussion
The car is coming up to its 10th Birthday in the Summer. It has always been OPC serviced (except for last year, because I was fed up with the way they treated the car)Can anyone give me their opinion on whether I can claim for this under the Porsche Bodywork Warranty. About 4 years ago it had a complete front end respray by a very renowned Official Porsche Body shop and it was very expensive. The work included Bonnet/Bumper/Both Wings. The other side of the car shows no sign of rust or paint erosion. Any help on this matter, gratefully received; and I will off course, let you all know how I got on…

Agreed terrible....................but not uncommon. Seen a few of them like this, the fault lies with there being no rubberised stone chip protection being applied by the factory IMHO.
Up there with the "only one spot weld on the door check straps to save money" farce.
Best built 911 ?
, I'm not so sure.........flame suit on

!!Good luck with a claim,,,they all do that..where the stones fly up......I would think this would be seen as a mileage wear and tear issue.....If the car is coming up to 10 years old and you are taking it into Porsche, check for any signs of corrosion around the front and rear screens, that is more expensive to fix than the problem you have shown
You`ve got no chance at all of claiming for that. It`s just where the paint has been chipped away by stones flicked up from the wheels. A bodywork guarantee will only cover corrosion coming from the inside out, (if indeed that given some recent posts).
But certainly in this instance it`s simply stone chipping I`m afraid.
Not too hard to correct and certainly not terminal.

Thanks for your forthright answer to my query, on balance you're probably right. as for sorting it myself, what kind of money do you think would I have to spend?
Thanks for everyone else's input too.
