What do you think to this 944
Discussion
I am off to the states for about six months and fancy something interesting for around five grand GBP. I don't know anything about the 944 so what do you professionals think about this?

Well the colour is pretty vile ... also don't really care for the wheels, I'd prefer design 90s, but for 6 motnhs ...
The interior "looks" (ie from the photos) in v good nick which I would say is a good indicator of a cared for car.
The accident doesn't sound like much too worry about, though might be worth checking if its had a full alignment check since.
Only concern I would have is that 944s are not that easy to sell in the UK, and if its the same in the US, you might find you had a struggle getting rid of it after only 6 motnhs. Guess you could just write of the $7,500 and give it away.

PS going to work for MS?

i had one of these for 4 years, exactly the same colour except with an Ivory Leather interior. In the daylight the paintwork is a really nice colour, gou can get a beautiful deep lustre from it with a bit of elbow grease.
I funnily enough had the same Autothority chip but with a MAF aswell. It was an awesome car, so much torque - I loved it.
I would probably get another actually, I'm really after a 99-00 model 996, but if the housing market keeps on going and i have to stump up even more money for a family home than I am anticipating upon my return from Hong Kong in 18 months time then I might just do it.
0-100 mph before you even blink, and the acceleration from 70mph in 4th, even 3rd if you are really going fot it is just awesome. Perfect 50:50 front rear balance, poise, tactile gear selection.
It's alot of car for the money - no doubt about that.
