Spoiler Rising At Low Speeds

That about sums it up! Spoiler rises at 50 Mph , rather than the advertised 74 (ish) Mph. Am I alone?

A lot depends on what model you have. 964s, 993s, 996s and 997s all rise at different speeds.

Just for the record, 964s are supposed to rise at 50mph and drop at 4mph.

Correct!! Whats the story , anyone?? I'm going around lookin like a flash git , in typical gridlock Dublin traffic with my spoiler up!
As I said , up at 50mph , back down around 20mph.
I've been ignoring it for the last few weeks but it won't go away!!

I thought that they were are programmed to go up at 50mph for uk cars to avoid the problem of plod clocking that you must be going over the limit...

I know that that is the case for the Boxster.

IIRC my Boxster used to go up at 76 and down at 50. Then again, I couldn't see it so I didn't really care

Spoliers going up and down..
OK - this is how I remember it..

The 996/Boxster spoliers go up at 74mph and down at 37mph

The 993 and older go up at 56mph and down at 6mph

I think the slower speed for the 993/964 was designed for the American market. As customers there would never ever get to see the spolier raised legally if it were at the speed of 74mph.

A bit like we never get to see it here in the UK....8-)

The reason why the mph figures ar so odd is that they equate to something a bit more uniform in km/h

Anyway, I think I am right.

74 = 120km/h
37 = 60km/h
