Getting on for £40,000 I'd say.

Think the going rate for these sort of plates is about £4/500.

If it ended in S ot T, maybe a few £100 more.

sorry to be obvious, but it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay..

for Peter Paul Harris and his 911 (lightweight?) possibly quite a bit

for Joe public its an old style 911 plate - prob. £500-£800

as a point of reference, newreg.com are offering PPJ911L for £1,145

Put it this way, my car came with 911 SXP, which I don't particularly want as I have my own plate... but I don't think it is worth enough to bother taking off the car. I would guess mine is worth about £1,000, maybe.

I reckon the previous guess of £400-£500 is about right.

Al, what letter/number combo did you buy to get "PERMA TAN" on your car?

As said previously, what somebody is prepared to pay for it...

I would say around £500 tops....

500 tops i would say, but I agree if you pay more and you want it then it's worth it.

Would be interested to hear anybody's thoughts on what P911 JJC might be worth. Clearly what anybody is prepared to pay.

If you are a 911 owner and your name happens to be Jonathan James Cosh it is probably worth a few quid, but if you drive a Volvo and your name is Ronnie then bugger all I guess.

Cheers Jonathan

Probably less than the above *** 911L one, because it has something immediately in front of the 911. £3/400?

Just look on Autotrader to get an idea... or DVLA.

Wow that's so cool. I could put that on my 911 and then everyone would know it's a 911 when they see it going past. You could be onto something big here.

Do you think it would make me more successful with the ladies too?

Don't laugh, I'm convinced that the only way Boxster drivers recognise another car as a Porsche is if the registration contains some combination of the letters BOX, cos when I flash my lights at them I hardly ever get a return gesture.

See, I drive a Porsche and it didn't even cross my mind to read it as "P"orsche 911. Now if it had been POR 911 that's different, but as it happens to be your initials, then I suspect you have a nice plate that didn't cost you very much ... whereas I have a straight 911 plate that means b*gger all to me but I had to buy it with the car
