Yep that's about the price range
A genuine minter with stacks of recent work will be towards the top end and the rough old dogs will be at the bottom. Ok so these cars can be up to 20 years old but what other 2+2 can do a genuine 160mph, seat 4 (at a push), has plenty of creature comforts and can fit 4 full size suitcases in the boot.
Bear in mind that a clutch can cost £1000, brakes all round can be £500, Shocks can be £500, belts and water pump £500, fuel lines another £500. A mint car should have had all these wear and tear items done recently and can quickly explain the price difference when you buy a cheapy needing all this work doing.
However there are still bargains out there with owners looking for a quick sale, or not realising that their exteremly good 944 is worth far more than the average price he has just seen the others advertised for in Autotrader. Just be patient and be prepared to drive around teh country until you find the one for you.
