Paintshop required

The 968 is not looking as well as it once did. In keeping with Guards Red cars, it's slowly turning Guards Pink - especially the spoiler but the bonnet is starting to look a bit off too.
Can anyone recommend a good paintshop in the Hertfordshire/North London area who could remove any clearcoat, whack a layer of paint off and then recoat the car, returning it to it's former glory?

Dont bother getting it repainted. I had the same problem on my CS which is merely paint bloom.
I used something called Finesse which is a trade product that a friend of mine who has his own bodyshop recommended.
It worked a treat on mine restoring it to a very bright/deep guards red in a short time and it stayed the same for the rest of the ownership period.
Its a very friendly polishing compound with no nasties in it.
My friend looks after Frank Sytners own personal collection of cars and numerous concours Fezzas so you can rest assured the advice is good both from my experience of using it and his advice/use. If I remember its about £20 for a bottle which is a good size ( 1 litre ? ).
It will take some tlc to do and you will need some proper polishing cloths to do the job as you use one to apply and one to polish straight after.
It will leave a uniform finish so no worries there.
If I had some pics I could post them to show you the results but I will assure you the results are impressive.

Just had the bonnet sprayed on my 993 by Langley Autocraft in Kings Langley (www.langleyautocraft.co.uk/).
They were recommended by JZM and 911Virgin and I can add my recommendation too.
The paint match is nigh on perfect, they were really nice to deal with and the whole job including removing and refitting the bonnet was just over £350.
Incidentally, I did get a quote from them for doing the whole front end (i.e. removing and painting the front bumper and bonnet, and blending the front wings.) This quote was just over £1000. In the end I just had the bonnet painted, but I may well go back and have the other work done at a later date having seen the quality of their work.

so, are there any people out there which will "finesse" my car back to it's original colour?
As I understand it, t-cut and some of it's friends are a little nasty so I want to ensure that anyone let loose on my paintwork isn't a t-cut cowboy and will use a quality product and reseal the paintwork afterwards.

Problem with red paint is that the colour fades due to sunlight. If the car has been painted "clearcoat over base", then a cutting compound cannot help. Your only choice is to have it partially stripped and repainted.
My Guards-Red 928S has the same problem but only on the rear-bumper (which was replaced by a previous owner). Guy that sold me the car spent a while trying to make the shine come back until I pointed out that he was wasting his time.
Eventually I'm going to have the bumper resprayed to match the rest of the car.
I know a place in South Beds that will do a damn good job if you're interested.

You can do this easily yourself trust me, I did mine with no problems whatsoever and the results were excellent.
Get the stuff, get some 'proper' polishing cloths and have a go on a small section first. My CS was really pink,bordering on white in parts
(roof,bonnet and rear wings) and it came up beautifully with minimal effort.Just do small sections at a time,dont be afraid to use enough pressure to remove the bloom in the paint,and then merely polish off with a clean cloth.You can sprinkle some water on the area you want to polish first as this helps.
As far as I remember the guards red has no lacquer anyway so its just paint.
Once you have restored it to its original glossy red get it zymolled and it will stay that way.
