CG Lock seatbelt attachmant.......any good?
Discussion
Yes - I used one for the first time at Oulton this past weekend. It's quite good, and it does relieve your upper body from having to do a lot of the supporting (against the steering wheel). Clearly it's not as good as a 4/6 point harness, but if you don't have a rollcage to attach a harness to, then it's probably the next best thing.

Yes I've got one. Use it in my road car (
) as the seats are the sliding-everywhere variety. Will eventually use it in track day car though.
It does make quite a difference, but it does not work quite as nicely as it should if you have a doubling-back seatbelt buckle, which was not explained to me when I bought it at the historic motorsport show.

to see if it will fit on your car - my Mercedes has a multi-pass belt so it doesn't work as nicely as it should (it's a bit annoying as it won't attach to the buckle) but still works.
Otherwise, it does feel nicer because you can chuck the car around a lot more and feel what it is doing, because you're not sliding around in the seat or holding on to the steering wheel. I didn't realise how much I did this until I drove with the CG lock - however like I say I do have a roly poly Mercedes with flat seats so.....

DaveyS2,
If Roy doesn't want it how much would you be looking for it? I've been looking at them for a little while and as a student I'm always trying to save a bit of money

Cheers
Sam
theyve sponsored us for our macmillan chalenge, and gave us a few to try. really good both on and off road. on road great for the tight twisty wee roads, and off road great for holding you in the seat - especially on steep downhill sections where you are liable to slide down the seta
