996 facelift engine problems

I am considering the purchase of a facelift 996 (3.6 litre engine) & wonderd if any of you guys knew whether the known issues with early 996 3.4 litre engines were resolved with the introduction of the facelift cars.

If its RMS you refer to, still an issue. Get the warranty, porsche will sell you it for £725 until the car's over 9 yrs old.

Is the RMS leak a symtom of a bigger problem, if not is it anything to worry about & has any one an idea of what percentage of cars are effected ?

Was told by OPC that the RMS issue was sorted by fitting latest 997 type.Mine's a facelift 3.6 and was done twice FOC at 34k(old type seal) and 48k miles(997 type) both times was "good will".Going in for 60k service on Monday.Fingers crossed it's not leaking again.Had most generations of 911.996 def.the best for me.I do 20k miles per year, alot on German Autobahns. It gets used as it was designed and gets driven hard (but sensibly) incl.the odd track day and Ring.Seems bulletproof to me but maybe I'm just lucky as have heard horror stories.My advice?Go for it, but be prepared to spend money (not loads) on brakes.Not upgrades just seems to like discs/pads.Could be me but don't think I'm particularly heavy on brakes.
