Has anyone on the Porsche forum any experience of running a facelift 996 (3.6) over high mileage without any engine problems ?

I do not think I qualify as a high mileage punter, but I bought an 03 Carrera 2 from new and done 26k miles in it in about 20 months.

Never a problem at all. My previous 3.4 had the RMS issue, which I did nothing about as the result was a couple of drips of oil on the garage floor a day... if I was not going to trade the 3.4 for a 3.6 I would have fixed the RMS... as it was, the OPC just traded the car as is.

I've had my 2001 Boxster S for just over 1 year now, bought it with 23.5K miles on the clock.

In the last year i have covered 20K miles and have had no problems.

I know i'll be covering at least the same amount of miles this year aswell, hopefully more so just go for it.
