get a garaged car back on the road

Good morning,
A good friend of mine has a 2002 C2 911. He left the country early 2003 and the car has been garaged and hasnt moved since.
Now we want to get the car back on the road, he might take it with him abroad, or I might buy it from him. (My current ride Boxster 2,5 has 350.000 km on the clock)
We will trailor the car to my OPC and get it checked.(New tires, battery, oil changes, filters, drain the petrol ....)
What should we expect? The garage where it slept was dry.
But could the engine have suffered during this time? I can imagine that the oil has "drained" completely and the engine has had very little corrosion protection during this period??
Would this be a safe thing for me to buy? Would I be able to get a new warranty from Porsche on this car (I just read the RMS horror story)
I would very much appreciate your comments, I want to be prepared before I face the OPC and my friend

LOL, well, the oil won't have drained unless there's a big patch of Mobil underneath the car!
What you will find is that certain oil seals will have dried up and possibly perished or shrunk...
Besides flat battery which may or may not recover, the clutch plates and brake pads could have become bound.
Also, petrol 'varnishes' over time, and condensation can occur in the tank... so best drain that and replace with fresh fuel. Otherwise injectors could become gummed up etc.
Finally, tyres stuck in one place can become oval over time, so vibration may be felt through wheel.
Of course, you may be lucky and the car suffers no ill effects, but my advice is to trailer it to a service centre and get them to check all the areas above and anything else they can think of. There could be anything from a couple of quid to a couple of grand to do.

Well for sure the car goes to the OPC, but still I'd liked to be prepared.
If the bills are astronomical then I am not interested in the car.
The thing I am most worried about is possible long term issues, things that pop up ate a later stage that could cost me an arm and a leg.
