White Vans and Rear Wings

Could be just me, but the GT3 rear wing on my 996 seems to be a magnet to white vans. They seem to like to get as close as possible to it, especially in town. Or is it that I'm sat lower than I'm used to and they seem nearer?
I certainly don't drive any slower than I used to. Anyone else experience this?

Sorry for the thread hijack but I have a totally unrelated question about the GT3 kit... how much lower is the front skirt than the standard item and do you ever have problems with grounding on speed bumps etc?
I'm in the process of buying a GT3-kitted C2 so, assuming the car checks out, I'll let you know about the white van thing!

Yes, I have lot's of problems with speed bumps etc, but the car is lowered. There is is a black plastic splitter at the front which seems to catch, I'll replace it before I sell.
I can't even get it into my garage without it scraping. Even taking speed bumps sideways doesn't seem to help.
On a 'standard' car the front curves inwards, with the GT3 front it curves outwards, creating a longer overhang.
I'll add a picture later to show you if you're interested.

Thanks Jamie, not quite the answer I was hoping for but thank you none-the-less! Do you know how much your car was lowered by - full GT3 or just less than standard?

Not sure how much lower, it's got Techart suspension kit. The pic from my profile below gives you an indication of how much lower it is.
The black plastic splitter seems like a fairly replaceable part so I'm not bothered that it's grounding.
It's my every day car, and the roads around here are awful. I certainly couldn't get in a multi-story car park.
I think a car with standard suspension set-up and the aero kit would be a lot better.

I have a standard C2 with aerokit and rarely have grounding problems.
Big central speed humps can hit it, and steep exits at a sharp angle (you know the sort of pertrol station off ramps) can casue issues.
As has been notes, it's more the overhang that's an issue - I dunno how anyone with lowered suspebsion or a genuine GT3 goes on with ground clearance - I think it would just pi55 me off.

With a standard GT3, unless you go over speed bumps at an angle and at about 2 mph it will ground out virtually every time. I guess a C2 with bodykit but not lowered would be fine just about everywhere. The damned front lip always grounds out on car park ramps and so mine has been removed without any noticeable adverse effect on handling.
