964 Steering wheel
Discussion
Right i think i've whittled my search down to one of these two wheels for my black interior 964. Still not sure which of the two i prefer, what do you guys think?
RS Mk 2 wheel:- www.essentialstyling.com/images/DSC00008.JPG
RS Techequipment:- www.essentialstyling.com/images/DSCF0017x7%20copy%20(4).jpg
I think the RS Mk wheel requires a boss and i have seen some pics where it looks like a large gaiter, which i'm not too keen on. Whereas the tech one i think is a straight fit onto the column. But i'm slightly leaning to the RS Mk for pure looks.
Help !

cyberface said:Yes. You need an adapter, but with it you have the chance to move the wheel closer to the driver, which is usually necessary.
I like the look of the second wheel - does it fit easily on a 993? Is there any MOT implication of removing an airbag-equipped wheel and replacing with a non-airbag? Is it a difficult job to replace?
Anyone here junked the crap standard airbag 993 wheel for one of these?
The one pictured is, IIRC, 20mm smaller in diameter than the standard. The smaller wheel begets heavier steering, although it's not a big problem.
^^ cheers, I'd actually like the heavier steering FWIW. I've had 3 993s and never been overly enamoured with the stock steering wheel, it seems a bit too thin and large diameter for my liking.
Perhaps I'll speak to my specialist and see what they can do. The only concern I have is with UK nanny state regulations or MOT failures due to removal of a 'safety feature'.

My only problem with the second one is it looks a little 'plastic-y', does it have a quality feel about it?...to anyone whos got one? ie feel like leather?
But for the 1st wheel,i really dont like that accordion boss, it looks horrible from side on. Dont they do a better boss kit?
To whomever asked, i drive with my palms i guess, when quickly.
