Typical OPC sevice part 2!!

I posted on here about a week ago about my pretty bad experience with my local OPC!!

Well I notice a few days days ago that my car was puffing a bit of smoke on startup, when I checked the digital oil gauge which i haven't looked at since the service it is reading over full, so I've just checked the dip stick and the car has clearly been over filled with oil.......f**king brilliant!

I was going to get my own garage to drain a bit off, but I thought I'd check if it might have caused some damage in the 2 weeks I've been driving it!

Any suggestions as to what to check?

What car is it?

If the car is dry sumped i.e. a GT3 (im looking at your nickname and guessing) then you should be ok. If its wet sumped and the car is overfilled by a long way, it is possible to blow seals out (i.e. crank seals) but you would have known about that!

You should be ok if you drain it out.

BTW - if it is dry sumped, the oil has to be VERY HOT before you measure it on the dipstick or guage otherwise you will get false readings.

My name is from my Noble days my old registration number on my GTO3....the car is a 996 C2 which I guess is wet sumped. I'll get it drain and hopefully won't have any problems.

No probs. You're right its a wet sump on the C2. It should be fine once the level has been dropped...
