Should I scrap this factory option? My build is the end of this month and I am worried about headroom as I am 6 foot two.

Is it needed or will it just reduce headroom?

I am 6 ft and never noticed headroom problems... I advise going to sit in one.

I love being able to see the sky when driving...

Hmmm Sunroof- Well I have one in my 996TT...and to be honest it is quite a small sunroof and having it open makes a buffeting noise. It does not let any light in as it is steel not glass.

It has a slight benefit on tilt for some discreet(ish) ventilation if you choose not to have the AC switched on.

Other than that I do not see the point in having one to be honest.

So for me I would not spec it.

you'll notice the extra headroom without, it may not seem like much but it is and quite a factor...... so if you can delete it, assuming they knock off a few pennies off the deal ?

AFN Guildford say it will now delay delivery by 2 weeks so I told them I would keep it.

Guess I won't track it after all...

I don't personally see why sunroofs even exist these days.

If you want to be cooled down just switch on the a/c, if you want fresh air, just open a window. Why spend extra to get 30+kg added to the car in the worst possible place in terms of it's effect on centre-of-gravity...................

Thanks guys...I have told AFN at Guildford to scrap the sunroof. This may delay my delivery a few more weeks but will save me over £800 and ensure I have the headroom I want.

Who want unnecessary weight on the roof anyway....

I'm 6,1 and did notice the reduction in headroom between the 2S w/o and 4S with sunroof (although probably onl due to the contrast.
I liked the sunroof in my old Audi S3 but that was glass so even when not open let a lot of light into the cabin - don't see the point with the steel 911 sunroofs

Does anyone know whether the s/r can be deleted on the 997 TT (where it is standard fit)? I haven't specced mine yet but should be doing so in coming months...
