996 engine problems

I know all the stories behind the early 3.4 engine's going pop, but just wondered if the problems had been rectified by the time they became 3.6?

I ask on behalf of a friend who is considering a 35k mile 2002 3.6 Targa.

Buy a car with the OPC warranty and forget about it.

And then when it goes wrong the OPC says it is not covered. Not the best advice to give!

Not my experience. I have always had no quibbles on anything.

If you don't trust the warranty then don't buy one.
