964 Ruf cup bypass exhaust?

Forgive my ignorance but what exactly is this? Is it basically a cat bypass system? The reason I ask is the insurers want to know if it increases power and I have no idea (just bought a 964 with one fitted)

Yes it will give you a little more power but best of all it does make them sound nice

It replaces the primary muffler (across the car behind the rear bumper) - probably gives you a little extra power (maybe 5hp?), but as graeme73s says, the best reason for having one is the noise! However, it can be too noisy for some tracks if you're in to trackdays - you'll struggle to make a 105dB static noise test.
