Just my renewal, £250 rise for no reason??

Can anyone suggest some decent companies to phone, clearly Tesco have lost the plot.

Many thanks

John,
Try some/all of the contacts in Porsche Post is my best suggestion.I found Performance Direct on 0870 870 4844, to be pretty competitive.

www.nudirect.co.uk (norwich union)..www.elephant.co.uk.
as Steve mentions the ads in Porker Post,,I have been with performance marque for the last 5 years they tend to work to beat most prices I get quoted...

What car is it ?........I was suprised when looking recently as a similarly valued 968 was 50% more than a 911 for me last time I got a quote...a bit strange I thought!?

John, try Insurance World on 01604 635105 and ask for a chap called Jamie.

I have genuinely found this agent to offer the best rates and service for a number of years now and I think in my time I've hunted everywhere!

Still won't stop you getting shafted in absolute terms thanks to our loathsome compensation culture, scum who drive uninsured and general peasantry who are allowed to p1ss all over one's parade and receive civic rapture for their collective no-markery.

Oh yes, not forgetting their adherence to the 'Keep Britain Not Just Untidy But A Veritable Sh1theap Like Some P1ss Poor South American Shanty Town' campaign.

Aaah. That's better.

Time to send that wazzack at No.11 an abusive reminder that he is merely a highwayman 'sans mask.'

Hi all, my first post but I'm a long-time lurker.

I've recently been using www.confused.com . This will submit your details to many online insurance companies and return an email once it's got the results. I've seen some pretty spectacular savings so far.

Hope this helps.

I found Elephant.co.uk cheapest when I insured my Boxster last month.

Since then, however, one of my colleagues has just bought an Elise and his best quote came from Sainsburys. Another colleague drives an M3 and got the best quote from Co-Op.

Elephant and the Confused.com are the same place - I tried one and then the other and my details were already in the second, must just share the search database.

Cheapest on my 968CS was £1,080. Does that sound reasonable compared to what others are paying??

Scottster...I got internet quotes on a '94 968 and it was £938...I kept my details the same for an '89 911 like i had before & it showed £623....That is roughly what I used to pay on my old '89...So to me insurance on 968 seem highish relatively speaking.....both quotes were max & protected ncb..

Confused.com submits to Elephant, so if you used Elephant after Confused they would already have your details, I think...

How does that quote compare to Tescos?

Direct Line usually work out cheapest for me.

Also got a Tracker Retreive fitted which reduces initial cost (although is outweighed by fitting cost).Depends on how long you intend to keep the car.

You could give Footman James a call on 0121 561 4196 or go to www.footmanjames.co.uk I got my 968 CS insured for 863, and the best quote before that was 1300 (and I thought that was a good quote!)
I'm 25, I have 2 years NCB and it's limited to 3000 miles a year - but I live abroad so it's rarely used anyway!

Cheers,

David

Scottster, seems very expensive to me. I am paying a few pound over a thousand for the mine.

Hell, just tried Nowell & Richards (who used to be Domster and my fave brokers) and they can't do it for less than £2,20)!! That was limited to 1,000 miles a year too. Makes me laugh (Well, someone certainly is!!)

Perhaps give the AA a try, I always found them expensive in the past but they came up with a great deal for me and this was via Norwich Union. When I went direct to Norwich Union they wanted more money!

Boys,

Photek is the Daddy of all insurance recommenders (if there is such a word).

These are all on a 93 968CS on 1,500 limited mile policies:

Nowell and Richards - £2,200
Internet Elephant/Confused etc - £1,080
Footman James - £421!!!!!!!! (That really is how my face looks right now)

How bloody good is that, and if I go over the 1,500 mile limit it only goes up to £582.

I'll have my cheque in the post tonight!!
