Quandry 997 Gt3 or 2S or turbo

I have a problem. I have owned several porches over the years from some real dogs to 993 rs. I have a Noble m400 presently with a Golf 5 GTI dsg as an every day car. Problem is noble have a new 500 + bhp noble in stock
My current car has been unreliable ( almost TVR level) but 1.2 bars of boost is intoxicating.
Porsche in South Africa almost double UK price ( 997 Turbo expected at R1.8- R2.0 million with an exchange rate of 11:1) have no lead times on new cars
If I ordered a bog std 997 2S I could have sept - Oct delivery.
Problem do I choose a GT3 and add rear seats and get rid of Noble & golf or do I purchase 2s.
Turbos are a problem as the waiting list is over 90 cars- this would seem to be the correct car for me( altitude 5500 feet- need a turbo) price is also aproblem- workers over here know how much your car costs and this becomes and issue at annual negotiations breaking R2million mark will be a no-no.
My favourite car owned so far was a tired 964 RS.
I am worried that the normal 2s will be a bit lame at our altitude.Price of GT3 not confirmed but probably R1.5 million vs R1 million for a 2s
Any advice(sympathy) will be appreciated.
P.s I have a 300 bhp ariel atom on order

Just checked out the Porsche S.A website. Damn!! Nice stock! They have 6 996 GT3s (all series 2), a 996 GT2, and a Carrera GT. Personally, out of the cars you've suggested, I'd go for a 997 GT3. Ask how bad the list there is on the 997 GT3RS. If you're driving a Noble and have the Atom on order, then you'll probably never be satisfied with a C2S. By the sound of things, if you hold out for a Turbo you might have to wait until late next year unless there's a cancelled order and you have a black belt in brown-envelope (though if you've had loads of Porsches you may already be viewed as a good customer). Get rid of the Noble, get a GT3, hang onto the Golf until you have both the GT3 and the Atom, then decide if you need to keep the Goilf or sell it.

Lucky sod.Get the Turbo, Get it in Lime Green and Sod the Laddo's with their industrial aerobics, go into the office in a M5 come pay settlement time.
If you up on the Reef you Lose 5-8% of power, 500+ Nm and overboost will sort that out. If the late Brett Kebble and old man Roger have/had been Running Two Fezza's and a Turbo for years, despite staff that clamered down holes for a living, you should be able to get away with it.
Uk Lead time about 2nd half of 07, I am glad mine will cost circa £100. The Lux tax is a swine back in the SA, but bound to be same on C2s % wise.

I wouldn't really count on fitting rear seats to a GT3. If 4 seats are a priority may as well get the turbo, as even if you can get the seats into a GT3, I don't think you can then have the GT3 buckets? Regardless, rear seats are clearly not a factory approved option on the GT3!
Personally I'd consider the GT3 and the Golf, but it depends on your tastes. Given you've run a Noble, perhaps even the forthcoming GT2 might be the one. Very little has been said about it, but perhaps they've tamed it a bit over the 996 iteration so it may be a more generally appreciated machine.
I came from a Noble GT03 to a GT3 RS, and have not regretted the move in any way. They are different cars in many ways though so depends what you want. Mostly I wanted the depth of engineering that Porsche offer. Also consider what the road surfaces are like around you. The 996 GT3 is much more stiffly suspended than any Noble, so if you have crap roads you will likely find it uncomfortable & tiring when you aren't in the mood. The 997 GT3 sounds like it will be more comfortable on the road but it bears consideration before you choose.
The real problem here, is that you are asking us about cars none of us have driven yet
p.s. If you liked the 964 RS, you might be very happy in a GT3 of some form - even the 996 iteration as it sounds like you aren't scared of a firm ride!

As an ex SA from 20 years ago it is good to see a big Porsche fan base,definately a turbo for the Rand area,talking of Rand 2 mil for a car woul be unthinkable a few years ago.I had a 964RS for 7 years and loved it now have a GT3 and am going to Spa and the Ring tomorrow...will be racing a 993 GT2R this year as well so alot of fun ahead....anyway being a Noble guy do you know a good freind of mine Stuart Kidgell....Anyway good luck Totsiens
