Altho the sound of a flat six race prep'd engine is a delight, it would be nice to hear some acoustic variety in the cabin from time to time.It would be sacrilege to encumber the car with speakers and detract from its originality. The 0-100 time would drop by at least a nano second! Can anybody suggest a suitable portable sound system which can if necessary plug into the cigarette socket DC supply? I have tried the odd portable CD player but volume/quality/shock proved a problem. It is amazing just how much volume you need in a performance car to overcome the engine and wind noise.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Learn to sing.

Loudly.

No weight penalty. Infinite choice of songs. No installation problems. Never going to have your car broken into to steal the stereo. Ever wanted a "Remote Control" for your stereo? This is "Thought Control" stereo. Oh, and no hassle with illegal copyright wotsits on downloaded MP3's either.

Anyone any better suggestions?

Many thanks; have 'phoned the place and the glasses seem 'interesting'.
I am concerned about driving with earpieces since they do blot out the sound of everything outside more so than in car systems.I could of course turn down the volume but not quite the same as speakers, if you know what I mean.

Or just fit lightweight speakers... had some speaker guru chap from Harman Kardon show me some very nice car audio speakers that weighed grammes yet delivered 'big magnet' sound... some double magnet construction where one pushed and the other pulled. Then use an ipod and jackplug to small amp etc.
