48K
Tiptronic

Porsche Communication Module (Sat Nav & telephone), PSM, Turbo wheels, Auto
dimming rear view mirror, 6 CD changer, Bose sound, etc.

I reckon about £30K. Your collective wisdom please.
Many thanks Andy
Similar spec to mine, as it happens.
Depends who you ask.
If you try to trade it in for a 996 Turbo then OPC will offer around £26k
If you try to buy one from an OPC expect to pay around £35k.
Parkers lists it as £32k trade value (!) and about £36k Dealer price.
I would hazard a guess that (depending of course on condition) it is likely to just get £30k without a warranty and maybe £32k as a push with a new Porsche warranty if sold privately.
Anyone else got any thoughts?

keep these prices coming, this goes against the previous threads that early 996 prices are in free fall.( that started 2 hours after i picked mine up) GULP!!!!!!!!
What I have noticed that if you have similar cars with same history and milage, the price between 1998 99 of 2000 cars is minimal

They are falling quite hard for dog eared non-warranty examples.
OPC warranted examples in top condition are holding up much better. I even had a bid from a specialist to buy my car outright for cash for £27k a couple of weeks ago, which must make it worth £30k+ all day long I would have thought.
The ones below are from OPC, so I reckon you can knock £3k-£4k off for a private sale. But still very good news compared to the previous doom and gloom.
There seems to have been a rash of cheap 996s following on from the scaremongering about engines and RMS all of which is blown hugely out of proportion. This seems to be settling down now.

the porsche warenty was a £500 extra over the dealers one, The 111 point check was not an issue as it was going to OPC for service before I picked it up.
I never took it up, looking back I wish i had. but saying the only thing that has gone wrong was a flat battery on day 2 of onwership, my heart missed a few beats that morning.
The dealer sent his man round straight with a brand new battery and its been great ever since. Getting a few funny looks at wotk thou.

I saw a really nice grey one in februarys Evo mag, was a C4, fully loaded, and was less than 30k, looked a right gem but cant seem to find the info for it now . . . . . im sure it was posted on here . . . .

actually, just read your after a tip, euurghh, this C4 i spotted was the more saleable manual version that hold their value better
Please be assured it not me
- I have a very nice 964 C2 Manual which I will be hanging until the perfect 964 Turbo appears - hopefully in about 6 months time - just as the roads get icy. Now just where did I put my life insurance! Thanks again Andy
It must be lovely to delude yourself that 996 prices are holding up, as I think you will find that if you ask for more than £30,000 the chances of a sale are very slim. Also, rather than the RMS debate quietening down I would say that there are even more threads discussing this very serious issue across most Porsche forums.
