My understanding was that the PCM that comes with a casette player couldnt be updated any more as they no longer make the cd's

However, i thought this was phased out in the facelift.

Basically, mine has the casette player with the sat nav but is a facelift so does it mean i cant update the discs on it?!?!

You can use the Vauxhaul/Opel 2005 map CD on the PCM 1, I do on my facelift 2002 C2 and it's a vast improvement over the Porsche 2002 maps. You can get them from Navishop, they're based in Germany and advertise on ebay at

Fantastic!

Thanks for that, just checking what 'blocked from 03/2001 to 08/2002 into all Porsche models' means

Thanks

It refers to year of manufacture code, not as obvious as you think because my 996 C2 is MY02 yet registered in Sep 01! Check your Vin No but if you've got a facelift model with PCM1 it'll almost certainly be 16 bit.

You need the PCM to be 16 bit to use the updated maps, if your car is MY02 it will be OK.

I assume you're referring to date of registration? MY refers to model year, yours will almost certainly be MY02, check the Vin No.
