944 Turbo BHP figures
Discussion
Hi all
I was looking at a US 944 turbo tuners website the other day and came across this:
www.lindseyracing.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=LR&Category_Code=944PACK340
It's a 340 rear wheel horsepower bolt on kit consisting of a new larger hybrid turbo, exhaust, Mass Air flow Meter, Chips, Wastgate etc etc.
Now while I have no doubt this works as it's backed up by numerous race cars and dyno plots etc, how much crank BHP would this be do you think?
The 944 turbo is 217 and 250 bhp depending on year as quoted by the factory, is this rear wheel or crank?
cheers and looking forward to your thoughts
Pete.

Hi guys,
My 944 turbo track/race car is pushing out 387BHP at the rear wheels running 1.4 bar boost. that equates to approximately 450 at the engine. The dyno plots ranged from 285 at the wheels at 1 bar boost to the above.
Running the Lindsay #61 turbo, stage 2 intercooler, pauter rods, bigger injectors, uprated clutch etc.
Hope this helps.
Andy.

Hopefully there will be one or two other 944T close to that figure at the 944 Dyno Day at Weltmeister next weekend. There are a couple of cars running almost identical setups to the Lindsey 340 kit so it will be interesting to see the figures on a rolling road as accurate as Allans
.....or there could be many tears

Shortly afterwards there will be a seperate page in the events section of www.cannell.co.uk/ with scans of all the Dyno sheets cross referenced with any or all modifications on each vehicle.
