RMS and Engine Failure

I did, RMS, so sorry to re set the statistics. Fix under Porsche war so no cost and being told they put in a special all new seal (out late June last year) which should sort the problem for good, yeh right.

No sign of engine failure this morning, though my baby does need her oil topping up. What does everybody use in their 996's ??

My car needed petrol this morning.

I am disgusted and cannot believe that this should happen with a car with the reputation for reliability such as Porsche.

Is this a common fault with the 996?

I'm afraid its worse than that. As I discovered when I tried to claim from Porsche for goodwilll when I discovered that my 1989 944 Turbo requires "regular" fuelling, as well as needing the occasional dollop of oil.

OMG I have an oil leak and its a 993

Found out that it is the alu washer on the oil release valve that needs replacing, that will be 2p to replace sir. That goodness it wasn't that dreaded RMS I have been reading about!

Ive just gone out to my car to find that its had a 'total exterior clean-ness failure' with the added complications of an 'aggravated guano assault' on the front main visibility device, and partially on the lower front valance.

Imagine my surprise, when upon contacting Porsche UK I was informed that 'exterior issues of lustre and non-bird-poopedness' are NOT covered by the warranty. Furthermore, the technician advised me that he knew this to be an 'ongoing problem' with the 911, requiring 'constant remedy'. Furthermore, any 'lack of interest from girls' that resulted from this mechanical failure would also not be eligible for claim.

Why oh why didn't somebody mention this to me before i bought the car? Once again, its one rule for the fat cats in Germany and another rule for the rest of us.

I'm off to issue a sternly worded letter to my MP. I strongly suggest fellow aflictees do the same.

you need a soft-top. then the cack falls on your head, which is easier and cheaper to clean (unless you use zymol shampoo)

I drive a soft top and once used Zymol wax as aftershave. It makes your neck go red but it does smell nice Do I win a prize?

During my 36k service the technician said your RMS is fine and I shouldn't expect engine failure......I had sleepless nights filled with worry until today

However a cracked ignition coil.....will that cause engine failure? Help!!!!!!

dunno, made mine missfire and people bully'd me into submission saying I was ga-ay until i had it fixed.

so had it fixed.
