hi,
i have only had my 911 for about 3 months and love it,,especially with added sports exhaust..and not looking to change .However i was behind a C4 S.,,,which looked fantastic ,wider..etc...and was drooling,,,,
what other differences does the s have?,,,wheel size ? engine size? HOW MUCH FASTER ,and is the upgrade worth it -compared to say getting a Turbo- i appreciate the money aspects etc,,,just wondered what the differences are Thanks Paul

Not alot more. The engine size is the same, as is power and brakes (i think). Brakes may be upgraded, but basically its the same as standard.

Now S to turbo - thats a big difference.

std car v S

S gets lovely wide arse, front and rear aprons (not boot spoiler), suspension, brakes and 18" turbo alloys from 996 turbo

transforms the look of the car IMHO

extra kit = leccy seats and speaker upgrade (not Bose)

The C4S is basically the Turbo without the engine , spoiler and rear haunch air scoops......
The performance is exactly the same as a standard C4.......

don't do it if you can't afford one - kinda ruined the thought of getting an otherwise excellent 4S for me

I thought it was the slowest (if you get my point) of all the 996's... due to the extra girth, weight etc...

I quickly add that none of them are slow -

It's true that the standard C2 6spd coupe should be quicker than a standard C4S - due to lighter weight, lower Cd and less mechanical inertia.

and transmission loss of 4wd (true of C4 also)

if you really want to own the slowest 911 get a 996 4S plus cab plus awful tip, no coincidence this is the most popular model in the US

Ok if you want to be picky about it the C4S is about a tenth of a second slower than the C2
or C4...no-ones gonna notice ......
