Hello,

cheeky request but straight to the point. After months of deliberation I have had an offer accepted on a Targa Tippie subject to a couple of confirmations and expect to complete next week. I know Targe + Tip is not to everyone's taste but it is mine!

Request: Anyone based in North West willing to meet up, show me a good example of a Porsche and give me some final buying advice ahead of my final inspection and parting with hard earned ££££'s. I'm looking for a freebie here due to the kind spirit of man. OK - maybe I could stretch to the purchase of a a soft drink or 2 at an appropriate public house!!!

Thanks alot - I have found this forum v. useful...

Rather than trust your limited experience, why not pay someone like Colin Belton to do a pre-purchase inspection? May cost you £120 or so, but if done properly will make sure there are no nasty surprises that are just not visible without putting the car on a ramp etc etc

Hi i am based in north west cheshire, knutsford actually bring the car down and we can have a full inspection, your peace of mind is surely worth more than a couple of soft drinks.....

I can carry out a full check over and report for £99 + V.A.T

Thanks for replies so far. The offer is subject to passing an official Porsche 111 check which I will fund. The car is also under Porsche warranty until July. All of the above helps give me that little extra piece of mind. Finally, I would come an have an inspection @ Knutsford but the car is based in London (where I work) so not really an option.

Just keen to meet an enthusiastic Porsche owner who can show me their car and what to look out for.

Cheers again.

If you don't get any joy with PH'ers helping you for beer, try Jonas or Steve at JZMachtech. They know their onions (so to speak)

Just checked out the JZ website. Looks good.

However, I thought that given their is a couple of months left on the official Porsche warranty, if I carried out the 111 point check, this would pick up any of the same stuff as a pre-purchase inspection PLUS - give me a really good case for a warranty claim if anything did go wrong between now and July as I would be able to prove that Porsche themselves had taken the car through their recommended check.

Thoughts?

Cheers
