Lucky, I would be overjoyed if I got £28K as a trade in..
I know they prepare them to the hightest standard but how can they justify £10K between trade and retail price.
They are just praying on the uneducated punter.
No. It is our fault, the purchasers.
For some reason, we always buy from an OPC or dealer because... well, because, and we shy away from private sellers, even if the car has a warranty and has OPC history upto our purchase. I did it with my 996 Turbo. I saw a nice example, a 2002 with 22k on the clock, Lapis blue etc for 52k in October privatly. But I bought a late 2001 with 24k on the clock and in black for 56,500 two weeks later from the OPC.
Why? I suppose the thrill of the showroom, the feeling the OPC would protect you (even though the other car had a warranty on it). Perhaps I wasn't knowledgeable enough on the car.
But, in answer to your question, its our fault. We are too lazy.
Your car is probably just as good.

Speak for yourself, I would rather cut my arms off than pay OPC prices. Buy privately with a Porsche warrranty on the car and full history and if you have your eyes open you should'nt go too far wrong
