I used him prior to the purchase of my 993 about two years ago. Well worth the money picked up lots of minor issues that I in my excited state would hasve missed. He gave me comprehensive verbal feedback immediately after the inspection and followed up with a written report with lots of pics a couple of days later. He also carries out the basic checks that you know you should but never bother to. He checks all the service history mileage, dates, MOTs etc as well as an HPI check.
I would happily use him again.

Plus, he does his best to get the inspection completed quickly so you don't lose the car to another buyer.
Great guy to deal with and good value. Use his report to do final tweaks on the price if he spots things that you or the vendor weren't aware of.

I found him incredibly helpful and communicative. But his website does say that he only works in a restricted geographical zone so the car needs to be in the right location if you want to use him.
But I originally booked him to inspect one car at a dealers, and then found another from a private vendor and changed the booking at very short (less than 24hrs) notice and he was fine about that. Knowing i was anxious about loosing the car to another buyer, he fitted it in as soon as poss, called me straight after the inspection to give me a verbal report, and called me again later to confirm it was hpi clear.
The (very impressive) written report was e-mailed within 24 hrs and a printed copy arrived in the post a few days later.
I also found him very helpful and chatty when I asked general porsche questions that weren't related to my specific car.
So, all-in-all pretty useful. And as I've mentioned earlier, his report cost £280, but the vendor reduced the asking price by £500 because of a couple of things Peter picked up that I would have missed.

Very thoroughly checked a Boxster S I was selling. Showed me the engine which I'd never seen before. Claimed from undoing the bolts that it was the first time the cover had been off. Took the carpet out of the front and rear luggage compartment to check for crash damage etc. Spotted my one refubed alloy (done via OPC). I would use him if buying second hand.
I have used Peter twice this year. First time he advised me to leave the car due to 'hidden history' - which I did. 2nd car I bought. Would add on 2nd car the ppi was arranged to be a mid point between seller and Peter and due to unforseen circumstances ( M1 pill-up) my seller was 3 hours late for the appointment and Peter waited to ensure the job got done. This is some level of commitment in the shallow money now modern world of ours. PPI documentation provided and verbal feedback very comprehensive. He is not cheap but in my view its about 1% of value of car so in the scheme of things has to be good value for a good level of peace of mind. It also adds to the cars documentation and this can be no bad thing come sale time.
