New Porsche mag???
Discussion
Just had the zymol newletter pop in my inbox from one of their official ditributors. They seem to have a feature in a new Porsche mag-
"zymöl is THE only choice for the serious
motoring enthusiast. Check out the latest review in GT Purley Porsche Feb 03"
Blimey I bet GT Purely Porsche are not happy with the new rival
still at least they spelt Porsche correctly

Doubt they would check. The mag's full of pictures anyway - little text of no consequence.
Some of the errors in this months mag are pathetic - for instance on the cover they refer to the 911 Targa as the "first wind in the hair Porsche". Er, hello ? Didn't the 356 come in a myriad of configurations ?
Even worse, one of their own editors poses a question on their technical pages (just to shut him up, apparently). Presumably, they only got 5 questions sent in last month and had a crisis in column inches.
This is the same chap who gets his 911 Zymoled - while he clears off and has a look round the surrounding area apparently. Two questions - why didn't he give them a hand, and secondly, why didn't they offer that as a competition prize or something ?
I must confess to buying this mag from time to time. This month it was the 993RS on the cover that did it. And again, just like last time, I wonder why I did. It seems to be a brochure for Specialist Cars of Malton, and their hideously overpriced cars (which have to be seen to be believed)
Unimpressed.

You can`t really blame SCofM for taking advantage of what is effectively free advertising.
As for their "overpriced" cars, - well I`ll agree that the sticker prices are eye wateringly high but there is more to it than that.
I purchased my C2 through SCofM after 12mths of looking round OPC and reputable/not so reputable independants. Both the cars I viewed at SCofM were the best I had seen in that they were the best prepared and low milage - in general they only stock the best cars. They give a good warranty and I had no problems with them over a couple of minor repairs my car needed - even a courtsy car. The price to change cars, which is the important price, was £2k less than OPC (remeber the cars I thought were better) and broadly similar to other independants taking into account the warranty, tax, low miles etc.
It seems to me a strange way to do business to me since the high advertised prices put me of visiting them for some time but I would buy another car of them.
