Show is v.poor this year though, presumably due to the British Motor show at Excel late July.

Show started today (22nd) and I believe it finishes on Sunday or Monday. I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, but it may be smaller than previous years. There don't seem to be any cars in cabot square this year which is odd. Either there are more cars somewhere else, or the london motorshow has completely stuffed them!

Looks good...in cobalt (I thought).....not that striking.I have to say it seemed very well finished with good attention to detail....obviously it's how it goes that matters

I spent more time looking at Westbrook's 997 cuppie opposite, they did ask if I was ok when I was lying down on my suit trying to see the manifold and exhaust set up

Unfortunately no cameraphone Daz, I was just suprised that the pair of central exiting exhausts look like old mild steel of about 2 1/2 inch diameter.....not that impressive at all,,,,the more serious pipework is still underneath though!

I would be careful if you go and see it, you may just have to have one!

Being a west country bumpkin, it shouldn't be too hard avoiding London for a next week.

Memo to self. Prior to visiting local OPC, must telephone to confirm they do not have a 997TT on the premises.

Popped over to see it today. Awesome. Really nice motor.

Yep went and saw it today. Have to say that it didn't really do it for me - the back looked nice and aggressive but the fussy detailing from the front stretching back to the split air vents in the rear arches all looked unresolved. It is a numnber of interesting design ideas that just don't seem to work in total. I want to love the turbo just because I know how mighty the package is. But the 996 and 993 turbos had this one cold when it comes to aggressive intent when standing still. The 997 turbo is a car you'll have to drive to know what it is capable of. The looks just don't do justice to it.

Westwood's GT3 race car was awesome. Nice weekend ride that one.....



BTW the Porsche East London boys and girls couldn't have been less interested in talking to me. Maybe my timing was off as it was just after the lunch time rush but as a semi-serious 997 GT3 buyer they missed a chance to get me talking turkey. Ah well probably the right result for me!

Saw it today - looked the business.

Pleased to note there was plenty of headroom despite the sunroof (I'm 6ft 2).

Would opt for the stainless exhausts and sills having seen the regular kit.

Liked the wheels too, though wheel refurbs are going to cost big bucks.

Yep, have changed my mind about the 997TT after seeing that one. Very nice in that colour.

The new turbo looks very halfords compared to the stunning beauty of a DB. When I think how much I drooled over the 993TT S at the time, it seems Porsche has lost it's way.

I've never really fancied a metallic light blue car, but I think Cobalt Blue is to the 997TT what Arena Red was to the 993TT... looks great.
