When I was at a car show one time the guy had some on a "plate he'd prepared earlier", and I was invited to photograph it. Half of it was treated and half wasn't.

I don't know what he had on the plate, though obviously he assured me it was the product he was selling but I can testify that it most certainly worked. Saw it with my own eyes.

Not sure if that demo was worth a damn though.

I have found it to work. If you take a pic with a high energy flash gun all you see is bright light instead of the plate. It will not work with low energy flash as found on most digi cameras but will also work in really bright direct sun light.

Agree this won't work, in day light the flash won't even light the number plate any more than natural light, so it won't make any difference to the picture taken by the scamera

You can get done for tampering with your licence plate

If you take a photo then fine it appears white and you can't read the plate ala the demonstartion you saw.

However, the pigs then turn the image into a negative and filter it somehow. They can then read your plate and are not very happy about the bother you put them through.

Its the same for weid number plate fonts or bolts etc. If you are picked up by a camera (speed/congestion charge etc.) and the plate can't be read automatically, the filth will decypher the picture manually and then you get in trouble.
