996 idle speed issue

Anyone come across issues with 996 idle speen due to some kind of sensor? I've just had a car inspected before I purchase and this was flagged - Porsche main dealer are sorting under warranty and then found another issue and are now replacing the 'brain'. Anyone know if this is a common fault or should I be cautious? Charles Ivey are doing all the work under the extended warranty of the current owner so it's not at my cost - just don't want inherit a load of issues

It sounds like the MAF sensor.

Will this have any nock on effect to the rest of the engine? Not sure if the current owner has been driving around with the issue
