HELP! Very weird DME issue

Just got the beast back from the garage after a few additional mods were carried out.

However, the DME relay is going bonkers! The only way I can describe it is that the relay is "pulsing" or "knocking", but is definitely ommitting a knocking noise. In addition, the battery went flat overnight - I assume that the relay or something else is drawing current.

Did the obvious thing and tried a new relay, but as soon as I put it in, it too started to pulse. So I can only assume that something is causing the relay to act this way and draining the battery at the same time.

The garage has never heard of anything like it.

Anyone got any ideas????

hi what car is it ?

there maybe a earth problem as the noise you can hear is the relay making and breaking the contacts inside...

It started life as a 993 carrera 4, but has been heavily modified with a turbo/Motec ecu/bespoke exhaust/brakes/suspension etc.

Interesting point about the earth. I guess the hard part will be finding where it is not earthing, as the battery itself is ok.
