40k is a good price for a 2000/01 spec cup car as Porsche GB no longer allow them to race in the Carrera Cup championship and with a few cars around with cash ready you can get a good deal. I have looked at 3 cars this week that fit into this price range at TECH 9 Motorsport.
60k will buy you a 2002 spec car.
Thanks for the link pal

Speedy, please tell us more!!
I am curious - what are the major differences between the ex Cup cars and a road GT3? Can the Cup cars be made road legal? Are they reliable for "normal" use (assuming of course that one can live with racing clutches, uncomfortable kevlar seats and light-weight fly wheels in traffic)?
It would seem that 40k seems a bargain compared to the current value of road GT3s, which seem to start at 50k for LHD ones and 60k for RHD.

Hi Guys,
I got a very good deal on the car ?? less than I wanted to pay but the car needs some money spending on it to upgrade to run in GT's - gearbox mods, fuel tank mods, reworked suspension etc all in all an extra 20k.
Domster you featured my Marcos a couple of weeks ago I sold it this week and it was a bargin it could be raced in GT's or even used as a very fast track day tool.
Back to the CUP car no you can not road reg them as Porsche will not allow.
Anyone wants to be keep informed of the seasons progress please e-mail me.
Cheers
Tony

Cheers for the info Tony, sounds great.
Your old Marcos looked amazing as well. Hope that went to a good home. I'm sure a friendly MoT station would let me put plates on it if I asked them nicely in hard currency
Would have been tempted if not going down the path of Ultimadom.

Yes the Marcos did go to a good home and I should be back in the drivers seat of the car at the Willhire later this year.
The big question on the 996 GT3 ??????????? well it came as a 99 spec car up dated to 2001 spec with a new shell and in impeccable condition with very little use. It will need money spending on the car to bring up to GT spec but I paid 39000.00 pounds from a team (very good deal and I am very happy) but they will make money looking after the car and selling the 2nd seat to a driver.
