rattly trim question

Just bought a '99 C4 and there seems to be quite alot of rattling coming from the back. Turns out it's the plastic covers on the levers to pull down the rear seats. Do they slide off on everyone elses cars, or should I just glue them on? Can't see any reason why they should be loose.

they were like that when i bought the car. i dont think its a major defect. if i were you id just glue them back on. though this will undoubtedly eat heavily into your profit margin.

I'd get the previous owner to sort it out. Maybe use his car whilst he does

If you can get sone double sided sticky sponge and put it under the covers. This should hold it tight and stop is squeeking.

I don't like to glue trim *just in case* it has to be taken apart at sometime in the future.

mine does ocassionally, and the first time i veiwed it before I even bought it they fell off when the guy showed me the back seats fold down.

I've got two kid seats strapped in at the back, probably why I haven't noticed. That and it's fg loud.

in all seriousness, its just a push plastic fitting. they slide on, they click, they stay sprung on, but are able to be removed.

look I know it wasn't an earth shattering introduction into the world of porsche PH posting, but it's the best I could come up with on a meagre budget.

A couple more of a similar ilk (just to wind up Matt)...

- oil: what do you guys use? Mobil 1 10w-40?
- has anyone replaced the bonnet/boot release catches? Mine are a bit scuffed. Any idea how much?
- The previous owner curbed the wheels (by his own admission nonetheless!) - any recommendations for fixing them? Wicked wheels?

Oil wise, I keep a tray under the car and put back in whatever comes out.

I've been told the catches can be resprayed.
