Come home to the official confirmation letter for the RS

Saying that it will be available in UK from 20th (ish) of October, as i am NO: 1 on the list at my dealer, how soon after this date do you think i should expect to see the car ???

This is a little sooner than i thought, so will have to look at finding a good home for my current steed.

I will be going for the Orange/black combo as per press release, and they are saying this is an optional extra. How much
will this cost, and will it delay the delivery time of the car ??

Now, i have this weird and unexplainable urge to Spec PCCB's, and i have no idea why, can someone please talk some sense into me, before i do something very very stupid !!!!

And convince me that they will have no longer a life span than the original ones......

Cheers

Rumour has it that PCCBs are standard. As the buckets are also standard it actually is looking to be a bargain again...

Can someone get Guy and Henry into Thruxton on Saturday? Should make PCCB conversations interesting. Failing that I'll bring my baseball bat.

Glenn, you have tried decent upgraded steels....do you really think PCCB will work any better...and thats before we dicuss the expense...think how many trackdays that would pay for....

Don't do it Glenn, they'll be sitting on the shelf in your garage after you have the Alcons fitted.

Glenn,

Don't get the PCCBs, the upside is so slight and the potential downsides massive. Even if they are a bit more robust than the mk1s, one visit to a gravel trap and they can get toasted.

Of course if you don't mind budgeting 3k+ to change to steel in the future, why not risk it I was gutted to fit the steels to mine when I felt the difference in weight. Then again I could get it back with lighter alloys...

Beyond all that of course, is that you are going to end up north of 100k with ceramics, and thats without the inevitable painted cage options etc (although not sure about the cage in orange to be fair).

Feel the same about the PCCBs - I want them for the reduction in unsprung weight, though not sure I'd want to pay up again for replacing them.

I can always lend you a few knackered PCCB discs for the people attending to wear as giant medallions

they should be, £14k premium for £3k seats, wider track and 20kg diet seems a lot

however my limited understanding of PCCB is great on road, crap on track, expensive to replace - should be std on everything EXCEPT GT3 amd GT2 which should have quality steelspads (plus a few spares sets thrown in)

That's all very true. Fully spec'd and with replacement steels on and the PCCB's on a shelf in the garage the RS will be circa £105k - about the same as a 996RS with £20k spent on it plus a small light aircraft! Still want one though but going to run my new GT3(Sept?)for a while then decide.
