Porsche S*GO numberplates

All of the official Porsche photos and press cars I've seen seem to have numberplates which start S*GO.

Is this from the area they're made or did they just buy up all of the available S*GO numbers?

I thinl you are referring to the german press cars, if so then this the "S" stands for Stuttgart...i.e where they are from The "GO" part is just chosen for fun i guess.
