Alright there guys!

Just purchased my first Porsche (993 Carrera Tip S) and am well chuffed with it. Can wait to get some tips from this board on things to 'enhance' its looks and performance.

Welcome aboard. Hope you enjoy your new motor(2 or 4WD? I assume 2?). Any trackdays or european blasts planned yet?

Come on guys, let's hear your ideas for modding 993s? Fire em in.

Awaits a Domsteresque tirade about taking out seats, removing all interior trim, all unnecessary (read: noise reducing) bits from the exhaust system etc.........

Wellll, a sports exhaust would be nice

And a K&N while you're at it, along with a remapped chip - Scottster did his at AmD in Bicester (got power up 20bhp or something).

Not much else I'd do to a standard 993.

There's too much to strip off the bugger to turn it into an RS, and Tip S isn't best starting place. Look at the 993RS as being your next Porsche

All the best and enjoy the car,
Domster

Cheers lads!

The 993 is a temp measure until my 996 cab arrives in July - I'm happy with most of the car, but a sports exhaust is a definate, as to in removing half of the front fog light surround to add in an air duct to the brakes.

What's the best exhaust to look at?

Alright, James? Class in a glass, really. Superb.

Frankly, the car which sets many a Porschefile pursist drooling; the creme brulee of the air cooled derivation and as Dr.Collbeck suggests, perhaps only requiring mildly of a more sonorous exhaust rasp..?

Other than that, I'd simply 'learn' the car - relax (if you can!) and enjoy the cochonic/homo-sapien symbiosis.

Once you've mastered that, you'll need either an RS or perhaps a GT2. Oh dear.
