Buying a Boxster

I have been offered a 2000 boxster s with full Stratstone history with 70,000 miles and a replacement engine 12,000 miles ago.I can have it for £15,000,this seems reasonable to me but second opinions would be helpful.It is metallic blue/purple with leather.

The price sounds fine - particularly for an S, but it's awfully hard to know without seeing or knowing more about the car. Can you get it inspected by an independent expert to make sure there's nothing major waiting to go wrong? It used to be that a Porsche would take 85,000 miles in its stride, but I'm not so sure any more. With a 15k purchase price, even 2 or 3 grand's worth of bits is fairly significant, and it's not as though there is a shortage of Boxsters to look at.

Then again, the car you're talking about could be fab. In any event, price sounds OK to me. When you say purple, do you mean midnight blue, ocean blue or zenith blue?

....that seams almost to cheep for an s. Similar mileage 2.5's go for circa £13k, 2.7's circa £17k and the s normally fetches around £19k. Check it's history for accident repair work and get it checked over at an OPC before you buy, it is well worth the investment to not end up with a bag of nails. If it comes through clear then it is an excellent buy. Does it have Aircon? Some imports don't and can hit resale...this may be why it is cheep. Not an issue as long as you are aware. Niche colours can have an effect too such as the yellows and reds.

Thanks, it was bought at strastones,Wilmslow,It was their dem car.The colour is not midnight or zenith so it must be the other.It has been serviced by OPC .In south Manchester and cheshire Stratstones is the OPC.I have HPI it and their is nothing recorded.It has had two owners,the first was the vendors senior partner at work.
