PSE question

Does anyone know if you can have the PSE on all the time, I believe that there is a wire that you can disconnect?

I have a switch on the dash which turns it on or off but when on it still cuts out between 3-4 RPM - I have heard that there is a wire that can be removed to overide this?

Ah, i see what you mean. Had a feeling that is always an elemen of PSE that you can never get rid of

If you fit the switch, then you leave off the grey/pink wire that goes to Slot 23. If you do connect this cable, then the only way to then disable the speed sensitivity is to either remove a jumper wire or cut a leg of a diode which is inside a relay housing. Lot easier to just leave cable off.

If you don't fit the switch/loom/accumulator/actuator, the no need to worry. To be honest, I bought the switch and other gubbins and never got around to fitting it....12 months later...

Assuming 996 PSE....

The PSE defualt is OFF, and you have to turn it ON when you start the car
For noise regulations, it is quiet between circa 3,000rpm and 4,000rpm

There is a modification detailed on porscheclubgbforum.co.uk, which removes the restriction between 3k revs and 4k revs.

They told me that if they didnt fit it, then they wouldnt warrant the cats etc

Same as Andy , was talking to OPC bout a 'no switch' PSE recently .. they wouldn't warranty it , they reckon it would greatly shorten it's working life if the exhaust was constantly on...... Not a great ad. for PSE , is it?

Remus exhausts give a lifetime warranty , and they're constantly on...

The PSE automatically cuts to 'quiet' mode from approx 30mph thru' to 42mph. It is speed sensitive, not RPM sensitive. It is easy to disconnect, there is a plug-in connector in the engine compartment, right hand side - 2 wires, one blue/red, the other grey/orange. Just disconnect this plug by pressing in the metal lock. Very easy to do......
