By best I (of course) mean cheapest.

If the car passes its checkup at the specialists today I should be the proud owner of a Boxster (perms & highlight at competetive prices ).

The best quote I have had so far is £534 from Priviledge.
I'm 36 full NCB doing about 12Kmiles a year with the car parked on the drive. And it has a tracker.

Now I'm pretty pleased with that price, but if anyone has found anywhere better I'd love to know.

Bob.

Seems pretty good to be honest. I pay £500 with First Alternative. All protected etc.. No tracker activated (one on car).. However when I rang the call centre to say the car had a tracker fitted they advised as it was a modification my premium would go up.. Dind't really fil me with confidence should I ever have to make a claim...

Have you tried elephant? I'm 31 and they were by far the cheapest around the £500 mark for my 2.7 987. They don't need a tracker but may give you more discount with one.

www.confused.com returned about 20 quotes for my 993C4S ranging from £340 to £900 (most in the £4-600 range). Tracker, protected, driveway, 2 drivers (46 and 42), full NCB. RAC were cheapest (roadside assistance included for short period, I think). A-Plan quoted as well, nice people but struggled to match last years quote from NU Direct (£366 - they hadn't sent this years renewal at the time). NU Direct this year - £447 !!

I insured mine through Direct Choice for a Tad over £600.00 when I was 24, may be worth giving them a try, That was for 12k a year with business miles etc.. They do try to beat other quotes also!

Tesco weren't bad either - price wise!

Give Esure a go online, they quoted me £293.00 comp. 42yrs, Garaged, no points and no need for Tracker. but watch out for their excess charges.

Admiral, £793 ,with tracker and garage.I am 39 and live in the car crime capital that is Manchester.I do not have any no claims bonus as i have always had classic insurance,on saying that i have never had a claim either.I got the quote off confused.com which saved loads of time as when i called the copanies they knew i already had the quote.

Ha ha, I too live in Manchester where every day is like a scene from Mad Max.

I am now the proud owner of a Boxster. I plumped for Privilege in the end - Final price £514.00 which sounded pretty good to me.

Thanks for all the feedback guys - it's good to know I'm getting a fair price.

Bob.

Admiral - £593 for me and the dear wife, they haven't witnessed her driving though, on a Boxster S. We both have full no claims, and i went for the multi-car so will be moving the family Audi over as well - for another £200 or so...
