First post!! welcome aboard.

Nice spec. I don't have any tips on boxster ownership other than to say get the roof down at all times.

Cheers for the reply. I used to have a Griffith 500 that was a bit temperamental, and a Cobra replica that was just too basic and drafty for the GF. So looking forward to play with all the buttons ! and a roof that puts itself away.

Welcome, alot of people say a Boxster isn't a real Porsche but I was well chuffed with the ones I went in on work experience, I'm looking forward to a) being old enough to afford the insurance and b) having enough money for one, I think they are a good start into the Porsche world.

Welcome to Porsche ownership and Pistonheads. ANOTHER Boxster S owner on the forum - excellent!

You have just obtained one of the finest cars Porsche have ever made IMO. Nice spec too. Enjoy the car. Its soo civilised whilst being able to do amazing things. Just love that mid-engined handling.

Are you planning on joining the PCGB and perhaps a few of their track days?

Might be Armourfend or similar. Anti-stone-chip clear plastic coating...

Thanks for all the replys. Paint protection is supposed to be something Lancasters at colchester offer people who push for a better deal on their second hand cars as well as a carpet protection system!! what ever that is. Anyway I bought a car not chemicals they put on it.

The club is split into regions and they do indeed have local get togethers. The club is also split into registers for each type of car and these plan their own events too.

I've never been to either however so don't know how 'anoraky' they are. Everyone seems to be a bit old when you see the photos in the club magazine.

Hark at me, a sprightly 34.

"Thirty regions and twenty seven registers in fact"

"Not in the slightest. Some meetings are a bit anoraky, some are pure social. Not just the cars, but with the regions we have driven tanks, been to greyhounds, various bodyshop, OPC, specialist visits, booze cruises and chatueax weekends in France, track days. There's a lot going on! See www.porscheclubgb.com.

It's what you make of it."

It's so heavily dependent on who runs the region though - I used to run one for 3 years - was easily the youngest RO in the club at that time and the average age has gone even further south. Can't imagine some from certain regions I know wanting to go down to VW to have a bit of fun....
