Hi people. I need to pick your collective brains again. On my quest for my 1st 996, ive been offered a C4S cab (Manual) with the following spec......

Seal Grey
03/53 Plate
16k Miles
Manual
PCM2 + Phone
Black interior
Park Assist

No PSE or Cruise or Warranty.

Ive only seen pics of the car but the bodywork looks like its in good condition and its a good colour combo for me.

I would ideally like PSE and cruise but if its a good price im prepared to let that go.
I will be getting a warranty on the car so will have to factor the 111 point check and the £725 for the warranty into the purchase price. The 111 point check woild be done prior to purchase of course to pick up any faults.

Ive had a look on the Porsche UK website and there is a similar car with 7k miles, PSE and warranty for £56k.

What would be a fair price for the car taking the above into account and the £1k i would have to spend for the warranty???

Your advice is greatly appreciated.

I bought a C4s 2004 04 car with 18k FPSH and warranty earlier this year. It was a trade sale and car originally cost £80k when new. Bought for £53k.

Your car as private sale should be about this price. Prices have firmed abit with the weather. Great car, prefer looks of it to 997 and alot l;ess money.

Good luck!

if a dealer has one which includes the warranty, the porsche approved cover has been serviced and warrantied and could be bartered down to £52-£54k then you are probably talking £48k tops privately, perhaps a bit more dependent upon if its in mint condition or slightly used.

The opc took 5k off my first 996 in 2 days of negotiation the prices arent fixed and the after sales when you buy from an opc is superb.

there seem to be a load of people who bought cheaply privately and then expect the opc's to pick up any issue warrantied or not on an foc basis.

i bought 3 996's from 3 different dealers, the cars were well prepared, largely fault free and the single problem i had - broken gearbox was dealt with promptly and politely

bearing in mind a good negotiator would get £1-2k off that OPC price I'd say pay £50k max privately

For what its worth I paid 53k for a C4S coupe about 6 weeks ago from a dealer.

Seal Grey
03/53 Plate (November)
10k Miles
Manual
PCM2 + Phone
Metropole interior + small ali pack
Cruise
Third party "Gold" type warranty

Upside: Car is absolutely immaculate with perfect original paint. Difficult to tell it from a new car except for a few tiny crease marks in the seats.
Downside: Original tyres so only about 3 mm on rears.

After paying a deposit and while I was waiting for an OPC 111 point inspection the dealer phoned me and asked if I would let them take it back again on a profit sharing basis as another customer was offering 55k. Having spent a few weeks looking for the right car I said no.
