Stumbled across this while searching for car hi-fi.......

"It is unwise to pay too much but it is worse to pay too little. When you pay too much you lose a little money....that is all. When you pay too little you sometimes lose everything, because the thing you bought was incapable of doing the things it was bought to do."

That's a nice maxim, and (from the reports that I've read) it's particularly applicable to the Porsche vs. TVR question...

It is unwise to pay for a 997C2S when you can have a 996TT for the same money but it is worse to pay for a Tuscan. When you pay too much for a 997C2S you lose a little money....that is all. When you pay for a Tuscan you sometimes lose everything in your bank account to pay for a rebuild, because the thing you bought was made of chocolate.

Or so I've heard in the TVR fora, naturally I couldn't possibly comment.

Well, unfortunately I don't like being stalked through the fora by enraged TVRphiles intent on shooting the messenger, so I won't be satisfying the dare this time...

Apparently quite a lot of the Tamora's have managed to reach 30k miles without a rebuild, which is getting close to tempting me to the dark side, or as most would call it, TVR Ownership.

Dark side calling:Cerberacerberacerbera..they manage 108k miles without blowing up. Faster than a Tamora.; Handle with Ohlins/Nitron suspension .. but talk to Nervous about trying to sell them runsaway very fast

Ah, but on a Tamora the roof comes off (and hopefully goes back on again) so I can show off my blow-wave, medallion and chest-wig!
