What 4 seater Porche ?
Discussion
Morning all,
I am a complete newbie to Porsche's so please bear with me!
I'm after a fun weekend car to supplement by diesel estate! I origionally had a Westfield, but due to family I had to sell it.
So now I am looking for a 4 seater that I can use for family days out, but also the odd track day, and fun driving.
Ideally I'd like a soft top, budget would be £15-£20k, could people please suggest what I should be looking at?
If I could get a much better/more reliable/newer tin top for that money then I would consider it.
I'd want something that is going to be reliable and not needs loads of work/money spending on it!
Cheers,
Greg

Assume that your kids are small kids? Otherwise the only option will be a Gayenne...
Trackdays and convertibles? Don't really mix very well... tintops are the way to go for circuit use.
For that budget, my preference would be either a 968 Sport or 964C2. Both cars are under your budget and will leave enough change for upgrades/servicing/etc.

I've a 964 Soft Top and my kids of 10 and 7 fit no problems.
As for something reliable, well thats another huge topic, would be worth doing a search on here for what to look for when buying a 911.
I do my own maintenance which keeps costs to a minimum, and i still feel the 911 drives like nothing else i've owned in the past. I've still got my Merc SL500 which is so much more comfortable, still very fast but not so much driver involvement.
If you do decide on a Porsche, good luck in finding a good one and have it inspected if you do.
Regards

Have two small ones too (wife often complains). They fit in all the P cars Ive had and within your price range I would say that from what Ive had :
911 964, should get a nice cab for your money, great fun to drive and hey its a 911. Coupe also great £14-18K
968, nice looking cab , very easy to drive , very practical fast if a tiny bit under powered, by 911 standards. Cheap to run as long as you get a sorted one. coupe even more practical due to the hatch back and cheaper too £10-15K
928, didn't make a cab, lots of room and extremely practical. Bit complex partuclalry from an electrical point of viww and can be costly to run. up to £10K
Could also consider a 944 cab which is very like the 968 if not so pretty and lacking the same power £6-9k
