Was thinking about getting the PSE, due to the ability to turn it down, but also keeping the warranty intact

Been told that actually fitting an aftermarket exhaust wont invalidate the warranty so its time to start thinking about a fruitier exhaust

But do any of them have the on/off switch like the PSE?

RUF did one for the 993... fiercely expensive though IIRC

Kreissig do, and it sounds wonderful in straight through mode, but I think they are 6.5k +.

Hmmm.... looks like i wont be wanting a switch then!!

After an exhaust that beefs up the 996 tone, but without sound like a chav nob that races about with a bake bin tin exhaust...

Or would a loud exhaust just sound right because its a porsche, not a nova?

Andy , I think putting in the switch nearly doubles the price due labour involved ...

Not that I'm suggesting your highest priority would be the same as mine!!

It's not really an increase in volume, think of it as being more 'tuneful'.

You don't need the switch, it's not indecently loud (below 4000rpm) and certainly not Chavy.
Its classic flat six bark and howl

Couple of clips of mine taken from inside the car with the window down, really doesn't do it justice though.

Spoke to JZMaztech - considering a europipe (hand made apparently and specific to each model year) or a dansk if they wont make a europipe one...

So the PSE has an adjustable silencer? Where is it adjusted?

Doesnt have a silencer as such, i believe it just has a normal, and loud mode. When in loud mode, it just opens up some valves

Correct. Below the PSM swithc actually, in one of the blanks either side of the aircon system. I rarely switch mine off, but im glad i can. Came with the car. Anyone who wants to hear a PSE will be able to hear mine if theyre at the next Vmax! Nice burble at tickover, and a spine tingling yelp at 4k and above!
