what's the likelihood this will happen do we think? with the news of the potential purchase of vw, it is surely on the cards.

just bought a golf gti with dsg as the family hack and am so very much impressed with this gear box. it would be awesome in a 911 of any form, but especially in a gt3 / rs i would have thought

I'd say the chances are somewhere between 99.9999(recurring)% and 100%. I'd imagine that the DSG box will make its way into the entire range eventually. HoooraayyZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.....

It's well overdue. Tiptronic is such old technology.

However, Porsche's system (a development of the Audi system) is not yet ready for production. Something about it not being as "sporting" as they require. ETA is currently 2009 MY, in tandem with 997 'facelift'.

I read on another Forum, that DSG will be available on Porsche cars end of 2007 - ie model year 2008

My dealer told me that he hoped to see DSG towards the back end of next year.

IMHO that will very quickly make any Tip cars pretty undesirable - particularly the TT. Stick with manual in the meantime boys!

how about www.zeroshift.com ? Looks to be quite interesting, I've wondered at times if a few of the bigger players are waiting for this to be further developed.
