Sad, but true, after nearly 4 fantastic years I am about to have a change from the 996TT, moving away from pork for a few months......
Loved the grunt. 2nd gear was still addictive even after 4 years!
Loved the handling & once you learn it's way's & push past the initial slightly soft cruiser ability it really comes alive, it IS a great drivers car!
Loved the daily driver, all weather, all conditions, ability.
Loved all the goodies, bose, sunroof,PSM, 4WD, electric memory seats etc etc, great "STUFF" all included.
Guys with the new 997TT out at about £108k with a few options, an 02 TT is fantastic value at half that price!!!
Still don't know if I'm doing the right thing, bl**dy cars get under your skin!!!

It's an AMV8, been tempted for a long while, fabulous sexy looking car, good to drive. I haven't been convinced I would enjoy it long term, but as the 997GT3 arrives next March & I have had 4 years with the current steed & was offered a half decent deal, I thought what the heck give it a try, cant wait!
But will I miss the TT??

My 997TT is ariving in 7 months time...
Of course a totally personal choice but test drove the AMV8 before putting the 997TT deposit down. Nice looks and great sound but otherwise a minor disappointment.. Very soft and not really a driver's car - more like a cruiser..Performance will be down also vs. a 996TT
Hope you're happy with the Aston. If not, we'll see you back with a Porker tied to your back soon.

It's been a hard decision, but the AMV8's do feel very very special. I know it won't hold a candle to the Turbos performance, but every car I've owned has been faster than the last one & each time you get used to the grunt. That is why I haven't gone 997TT, it's £50k+ more than mine for something similar but even faster & more capable (also not sure about the looks)I made that mistake changing from the 996 C2 to 996 c2 facelift, it was lovely car but too similar to what I had owned before!
So after 4 years with the same car I thought this would make a nice change & feel lucky to able to run one for 9 months.
Anyway as the 997GT3 is already confirmed for next March, I'm not leaving Pork, just taking a holiday!
